Ensure that the State provides adequate funding for the provision of an efficient and equitable public education for all children of Texas, as required by the Constitution, reduce the increasing dependency on local property taxes, and provide education choices and opportunities to meet the interests and needs of all of our children. The State must prioritize public education spending through appropriate and necessary budget allocations and adjustments without creating a new tax obligation.
- stricter enforcement of existing laws
- enhancement for offenses involving guns
- enhanced identification and treatment actions regarding mental health conditions and violent propensities
- Reform our property tax system to afford immediate tax relief
- Reform education finance and our approach to education to meet the interest and needs of all our children
- Transportation infrastructure
We must provide a practical, fair and equitable approach to the drawing of all districts to be established by the Legislature.
The health and safety of the people is a top responsibility of government. We must provide a balanced regulatory approach that protects air and water and minimizes pollution while maximizing quality of life and recognizing private property rights, business expansion and job creation.

I would start by advocating for universal background checks utilizing the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), I would support the enactment of “Red Flag Laws” and carefully legislate the protection of victims of domestic violence, stalking, or other forms of abuse.

Creating More Jobs
In litigation led by the Mexican American Legislative Caucus, a federal court found that redistricting maps drawn by the Texas Legislature were intentionally discriminatory and diluted the voting strength of historically marginalized communities.
As an elected official I would advocate for the impartial use of science based-methods, utilizing statistical models of proportional representation to determine demographic trends that will be accurately and fairly represented.
