U.S. House, District 33

Democrat Marc Veasey of Fort Worth has represented Texas’ 33rd Congressional District since 2013. He’s a member of the House Armed Services and Science, Space & Technology committees. He’s also a member of the Congressional Black Caucus and New Democrat Coalition. He’s been endorsed locally by The Dallas Morning News’ editorial board.U.S. House District 33 includes parts of Fort Worth, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Irving and Dallas. It was a new district created as a result of the 2010 census. The first candidates ran in the 2012 U.S. House elections. That’s when Veasey was elected.Republican challenger Willie Billups of Arlington is a retired military officer and small business owner. He has not held or run for any previous office. Billups is campaigning on criminal justice reform and finding ways to improve services for military veterans. Jason Reeves, the Libertarian candidate in the race, also ran for the seat in 2014.
