Education I received an associates degree from York College and attended an additional year at Lubbock Christian University.
Prior to being elected District Clerk, I was employed as a legal assistant for 24 years. I am a certified legal secretary and served as president of the Lubbock Legal Professionals Association and the Texas Association of Legal Professionals.
Over the last 16 years, the duties have changed. In 2003, I would have answered providing service to the Lubbock County Courts and its citizens. As custodian of records, approximately 30,000 documents are filed with us monthly, and we summons jurors for the use of the courts. The most fulfilling portion of our duties is assisting with adoptions and seeing the smiles of the families. Over time, technology has become an increasing priority.
